Here are some Introduction Stories from the 5th Grade Students at Franklin Township School in Quakertown, New Jersey, USA
My name is Julia, and I am 11 years old. I love to draw pictures in anime. Just to draw my friends is a whole lot of fun! I love to draw because one of my friends inspired me. When I draw I feel like I can do anything. It is my passion to draw because I can draw anything I want or even more than one thing. Sometimes when I have nothing to do at home, I take a piece of paper and pen and draw. I will draw anything that pops into my mind. The only thing is, I cannot draw vehicles. It may sound odd, because I can draw pineapples, cats, or just about anything else.
I started to draw about three or four years ago. Ever since then, I just could not stop drawing. That is also the reason that there are a bunch of doodles all over my binder at school. Everyday when I get home from school, I simply have the urge to draw. I even have my own to notebook, so whenever I can, I draw. I love to draw, but sometimes I let it get the better of me, which can sometimes lead to trouble.

I am Kelly, and I am 10 years old (I will be 11 in early March). I go to Franklin Township School in Quakertown, New Jersey. I love theatre! Theatre isn’t just about being the lead role, it’s about being part of a show. I love theatre because I like singing, dancing, and creating a character.
I have two stories for you. I tried out for our school play, The Jungle Book. The play was not be directed by my normal theatre teacher. I put a lot of effort into my audition. I didn’t get the role I wanted or even a second role. I was pretty upset. I thought my audition was really good. I have decided not to do the play.
Here is my second story. The other day I tried out for Alice in Wonderland with my normal theatre teacher, Maeve Pambianchi. I love her because she’s awesome and really know how to put a show together. The piano player/ leader in the band for the performances was Jay Kawarsky. Jay is nice and compassionate when I mess something up. I didn’t really look at my monologue for Alice In Wonderland because I didn’t know auditions was that night. I just looked at it while other kids performed. I remembered it all, but I also had to sing a song. I chose “Story of My Life” by One Direction. I tried out for the Queen of Hearts/ Red Queen role. I hope I get it!

My name is Matthew, and I will be telling you about why I like baseball. Each year, Major League baseball teams in my country play 162 regular games, and I can watch every one of them back-to-back. The team I cheer for is the New York Mets. Mets is short for Metropolitans. Since the Mets play in New York City, you can understand why they are called the Mets. The reason I like baseball is that it entertains me. It is weird, but whenever I see a baseball game, I just watch it. After a season or two I started to really get baseball. Now I know the rules, players, and statistics (batting and pitching numbers).
Right now I am starting to get excited for the 2014 Major League Baseball Season to start in about a month. Of course, I will try to watch as many games as I can; especially the Mets. Right now you are probably thinking, “Why the Mets?” The reason is that it is my dad’s favorite team. I watched all the games with him, so I became a Mets fan. I will also root for the Yankees, the Mets crosstown rival. I am a Yankees fan, but first I am a Mets fan. Now you know what I like. I will be a baseball fan for along time, and maybe when I grow up I will go to some games.

I have many wonderful things I love, but number one is art. Art has always been a passion of mine. I love to use my creativity to make something I have not made before. I love to mainly paint and color, because I do not draw really well. I have never been able to draw, which is frustrating because I feel like drawing helps make artwork.
Artwork I enjoy making usually have to do with flowers and wildlife. An artist who has inspired me is Georgia O ‘ Keefe. She was an amazing artist who made beautiful flowers. I even have some copies of paintings of flowers made by her. I hope you got to learn what I love to do and my passion.

I am Kyle, and I am going to tell you about my favorite sport, basketball. I am on a recreational league basketball team for 5th and 6th graders. We have won seven games out of eight, and I am the center. The center can only stay in the area under the basket for five seconds, so I usually get the ball a lot because I have to move around so much. The reason I like basketball is that I have to run a lot and it is a competitive sport. I hope you try basketball because you will like it.

Almost everyone in my school knows I love dance, so I am not going to write about it. Since people think that is my whole life, I want them to know that I also do another sport. I love to ski in the winter. When I am flying down the hil,l I feel like I am free. The feeling of the wind on my cheeks is so relaxing. I go skiing with my school ski club and sometimes on the weekends with my friends and family.
I am not going to bore you, but I am going to also talk about how I love to accessorize. I might not do it everyday, but I do like to do it. It lets me show everybody who I am. I like to add a bow in my hair or even put a necklace on. I like to express myself in many different ways.

My name is Drew, and I am going to tell you about the sports I like. My favorite sport is lacrosse. I am going to play on a team this year for the first time. My favorite sport is lacrosse because it is an aggressive sport with a lot of contact. I have a cool Under Armour stick that is black. I practiced before we received a lot of snow, so I think I am pretty good. My team and I cannot wait for our first game. I hope we win!
My second favorite sport is basketball. I have been playing basketball since first grade. I am on a recreational basketball league team for our school. Next year I will play for the recreational basketball league team then the year after I will play for our seventh and eighth grade team.
Football is my third favorite sport. I am going to play football for the first time this year, the same as lacrosse. I have practiced football more than lacrosse because I play at outdoor recess every day. Now those are the sports of my life.

I am Kyle W., and I love sports. I like basketball, soccer, lacrosse, football and many more. My favorite sport is football. I played running back on a team last year and scored over 32 touchdowns during the season. When I play sports I feel like I am free to do anything I want: no parents, just the games rules. It is just me and the game. When I play a sport, I try to be very good at it. In soccer I am on the defense. When a person tries to get past the line, I have to slide tackle the person. Sometimes, they get hurt, but at least I saved a goal. Some people say that I have a iron foot because when I slide tackle them they say its like they are kicking a steel wall. In the end one thing about me is that I am very good at sports and I like sports a lot.

I started playing sports when I was five and started off with soccer: I played for 5 years. Next year I will be playing football. I am going to give you a story about sports. My name is Ethan, and I will being telling you what I like to do. I enjoy play baseball a lot. I think it is a fun sport to play. I have been playing it for five years. My normal position is 2nd base or center field. The coach puts me in the outfield, because I am very good at catching fly balls and throwing far. Another sport I play is basketball. I play with all my friends at school. I play forward and am better at defending than being on offense. Some of friends that play are Frank, Matthew, Kyle, Sean, Nick, and Anthony. These are a few things I like to do.
