Talk to the Author – Tell your own story.
5/6J this week is concert week and everything will be so busy. I have decided to set a challenge for you this week based on the time we have in the classroom.
Every time I hear Guy Sebastians song – ‘Get Along’, images of a world trying hard to find peace flash in my head. We are going to combine reading and writing this week ann work towards sharing our images that are ignited by this powerful song.
I have deliberately chosen the video that doesn’t show imagery but will allow us to listen carefully to the lyrics. Our Learning Intention for Reading will be ‘To understand how talking to the author helps us understand what we read’.
We will examine the lyrics and then as we unpack the message we will use imagery to explain our understanding.
