How FANTASTIC Mrs Whitehead went to China but now I’m sad because she didn’t tell me but I hope she has a great time.
P.S Mrs Whitehead when you get back get ready to be annoyed.
It is AMAZING that Mrs Whitehead went China but I am jealous because I have always wanted to see China. I would like to know how many different and exotic animals did you see in China?
Hi Rennae,
Whilst we were in China we did see some Pandas in the Chongqing Zoo. They were really cute. We also saw the endangered Chinese tiger. I will send Mrs. Joyce some photos to share.
From Mrs. Whitehead
Wow I can’t believe that you saw the endangered tiger. Thanks for answering my question. Can’t wait to see the photos.
Congratulations Mrs Whitehead! Hope you had a wonderful time in Taizhou, China.
Here are a few questions, hopefully you could answer them;
~ What destinations did you go to? What was your favourite?
~ How long were you in Taizhou, China?
~ Did you enjoy your experience there?
~ Were you treated like royalty, just as Mrs Joyce was?
~ If you got the opportunity to go back there, would you? Why?
Wow Anneliese, good questions. When we were in China we visited Taizhou, Shanghai, Wushan, Chongqing and Xian. After spending time in Taizhou and Shanghai, we had 4 days on a boat on the Yangtze River and then visited the famous Terracotta Warriors. It was a fantastic experience, unfortunately we had some family issues at home and had to miss the Beijing part of the trip so I would love to go back there again. We were treated like royalty, when we were on our way to see the Dragon Boat races, the police even closed the part of the freeway so we could get there on time. The Chinese people were wonderful hosts and I would love to visit them again.
Sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful time in China!
I hope you do go back to China to visit Beijing, it seems you were looking foward to it alot! 🙂
Wow, it looked like you had lots of fun at China! I wish one day I could go up there see China too when I am older! Now I would like to ask some questions! 🙂
_ How long did you stay up there for?
_ What was the most interesting part about the trip?
_ What was the most fun you had?
_ Did you learn anything new up at China?
_ Did you get to meet our sister schools up there?
_ What did you like best up at China?
_ What part of China did you go to?
I hope you will answer these questions ASAP! Thank you!! 🙂
Thanks for the questions, Ashton. We were in China for about 2 and a half weeks. Although we didn’t get to go to your Sister school, we visited the school that Mr. Whitehead taught at in 2001. It was tomb sweeping time when everyone goes to where their ancestors are buried and clean their tombs, so the kids were not in classes. We travelled to Taizhou, Shanghai, then to Yiang to board the boat for our 4 days on the Yangtze River ( to pass the huge 3 Gorges Dam), we left the boat at Chongqing (where we saw the pandas0, then flew to Xian to see the terracotta Warriors. I think they were the most interesting thing we saw. We had lots of fun as we were with other people for the trip, one of the best times was on the Perspex level of the Pearl Tower. Mr. Whitehead does not like heights! I learnt lots more about Chinese Culture and history.
Hi Ben, In the photo we are at West Slender Lake near Taizhou. It is a very popular place to have photos taken. I hope you can travel to China one day, I am sure it would inspire you.

Hi Shontae, We flew to China, it took us about 14 hours to get to Shanghai. We arrived in the morning and were met by Miss, Wong in her mini bus who drove us to Taizhou. We saw lots of things about Chinese culture,, including an acrobatic show, Chinese Theatre Restaurant and a show thtat showed the wonderful array of Chinese clothes that people have worn over the years. As I told the others, we visited places in Taizhou (Latrobe City’s sister city) , Shanghai, spent time on a boat on the Yangtze River and stopped and visited places, then went to see the fantastic Terracotta Warriors at Xian.

Hi Heidie, The plane trip was about 14 hours to Shanghai. My husband and I went with three other people to Taizhou where the Rotary Club were donating a bed to the cancer hospital. When we went on the tour we were with eleven other people. We stayed in Hotels all the time except for when we were on the boat in cabins. I think the visit to see the Terracotta Warriors was the best thing. In Taizhou, our guide Miss Wong took us to the markets where the girls model the dresses in their stalls so you can see what they look like.
Wow that sounds like a fantastic trip. Its extremely awesome that you got to see the Terracotta Warriors. I really want to see them in person. The culture they represent China is very fascinating. I hope you had a very good time with your husband.

Wow Carissa what a lot of questions. The building where the picture was taken was on West Slender Lake. Mr. Whitehead wanted to take me there because he had a picture taken in the same building when he taught in China in 2001. We were in China for three weeks. We stayed in lots of wonderful hotels and on a boat for 4 nights, they were all excellent. The best part of the trip was meeting new friends and seeing lots of different things. The worst part was missing going to the Great Wall. we had to leave early because Mr. Whitehead’s dad was sick. We ate all sorts of food. The things I liked best were the dumplings and the Mandarin fish. I didn’t like some of the live shrimp meals. I would rate the China holiday as a 10.The trip was to donate a bed to the Hospital in Taizhou and then a holiday. We learnt lots about Chinese history, especially when we visited the Terracotta Warriors. I learnt to say a few words in Chinese like hello and goodbye. When we were there we managed to visit the pandas and the Chinese tiger. There are pictures of these on Mrs. Joyce’s blog. It was really interesting to go to the restaurants, eat the food and visit the markets in China.
