Eyewitness: Magadi, Kenya
Photographs from the Guardian Eyewitness series
Masai wait to cast their ballots in front of a polling station during the presidential and parliamentary elections near town of Magadi, Kenya.
Mrs Joyce I thought that they weren’t aloud to vote. But anyway does everyone get to vote in the election? I can’t believe how dry it is around there. Do you think they get fires over there? I think that they would be really hot because the have layers of sheet like clothes. The people that I can see are wearing jelwllery are they all girls? What age are they? How many people in the country are there that have to vote? Mrs Joyce I would love to find out some more about this country and their government system over in Kenya. I will tell you what I learn very soon. 🙂
Rennae, from the way im observing I think that they are all wearing jewlery. Its looks like the most is necklaces. They used string most too, to make it. They dont have that much new resources as us.
Wow, thats alot of people. Do they all live in that village? I think it is a village because I can see houses in the background. I can see that their faces are in distress. The way that they dressed in the photo, is that everyday wear? Is it a cu;tural clothing? The patterns and colours are beautiful. All of the people are different ages in the line, why? Why didnt they do just children? The landscape looks dry and plain. Are they in a dessert? I am observing sand.
