Where is the Dhammakaya Temple and What is Makha Bucha Day?
Thousands of Buddhist monks chant during a lantern lighting to celebrate Makha Bucha day at Dhammakaya temple.
Can you research and find out more about this magical place?
Mrs Joyce this is what I found out.
Makha Bucha Day Celebration
At Dhammakaya Temple in the Pathum Thani province of Thailand, monks gathered to celebrate Makha Bucha Day by holding a candlelight procession called a wian tian (wian meaning circle and tian meaning candle), meant to commemorate two events during the Buddha’s lifetime that occurred on the same date, 45 years apart. The first was the ordainment of 1,250 monks who came from all over, and the second was the delivering of the Buddha’s teachings shortly before his death. Both events happened on the full moon of the third lunar month. The spiritual aims of the day are not to commit any kind of sins, do only good, and to purify one’s mind.
I think that this inspiational place is in an asian country and they celebrate a day for their leader or the peace in their grateful land. They are all identacly dressed which actually makes me think, are they celebreating all of their people for peace in their greatfull land and celebrate the differences in each living person in their country. That is what I think. If I was in ones head of them, I would be thinking peace, calmness, yoga, stealth, people, resting. This picture is making me feel relaxed because they are just sitting there like its natural.
I wonder what they are thinking when they do that. At that exact time what are they wondering? At the time in this photo, the exact thing that he is thinking in his mind. If he had an open minded portraitthat would help alot, but I doubt it. I wonder also how many people do this relaxation, of some sort? Are they at some sort of temple?
I can observe candles in their cup and I think that means that if it is dark in your world, make it better so the dark will fade away and the light will come back rushing into your life with hope and you can be there for yourself whenever. It doesnt mean you know everything and you can be a show off. Believe in yourself, you can be brave if you just beleive! If you want to be brave, doesnt mean you have to go looking for trouble.
Is this cultural for these people? Do they do this every year? Is it the boys that only do this? Do they call this relaxation a name of some sort?
P.S I am calling this picture ”relaxation”. 😀
I wonder if anyone every gets hurt by the ligths falling over and the photo looks cool i would like to to be one of them people I wonder if people watch then do what every they doing.
Everyday monks take care of the temple compound they cut the grass, clean the inside of the buildings, pray, learn and study the Buddha teachings. In some temples like forest temples in Isan area, monks only eat once a day, When some famous monks die, their boddy if momifided.
What do those lanterns stand for? In what country are they in? How many are lit a year ?What are they used for.
