We are happy for your upcoming field trips to Melbourne and then to your School Camp! We have only had one field trip this year, and that was to a beautiful new Science Museum called the Perot, here in Dallas.
Sadly, our schools in the US do not go on a School Camp or retreat like so many of your Australian schools do. It sounds like great fun, and we hope you will share lots of details about both your upcoming adventures in the future.
What is the name of your School? Ours is “McCulloch Intermediate School” and we are a public school. We are located in the heart of Dallas, within a small incorporated city of University Park. Our school district has four elementary schools, the one Intermediate/Middle School that we are in, and one High School. Would you believe it — there are 2,000 students in our building, 500 in each of grades 5, 6, 7, and 8! How many students are in your school, and how many grades?
Our Travel Buddy has been named “Ranger” — maybe you can do a little “sports research” on Dallas and find out why he is so named! Considering his name, we know he will LOVE the Cricket Match! Our kids here do not know much about cricket, but we know even less about Australian Rules Football. We would be very interested to know any details about these sports! Also, what do girls play? We know you play girls’ basketball, because we saw photos of a game. Our girls in 6th grade like to play soccer, softball, volleyball, and basketball. Some play lacrosse, some swim or dive, some play tennis, and many of our girls take dance and/or cheerleading and are on dance or cheer teams.
Have a great weekend!
This travel buddy Ranger is a cute little cow he is so cute.
I can’t wait for our travel buddy ranger to arrive. Hopefully he arrives before we go on holiday so he can meet us. He is so cute his a cutey cow.
ha ha, cutey cow
I am ultra exited for Ranger, he looks like the bomb, and his name is well chossen, I hope he comes soon because I am going on a massive camp and if Ranger comes in time I could take him, and he would have a wonderful welcome.
Ranger is si cute! I hope he comes before the school excursion so I can take him on the train. I cant wait untill he comes to Australia! I hope that Ranger does LOVE cricket. We can show Ranger lots of Australian things like meat pies.
If he doesnt come befre then, I want to bring him to Melbourne camp! 🙂
I wish you could experiance the amazing times when you go on school camp but unfortunaltly you cant do them things. We get to do thm every year. Oh and also, you have 2,000 students??? WHOAH. Thats a lot of students compared to our school, Liddiard Road. Your school has lots of oppertunity sports that you can play in your school. We have hocky, netball, football, soccor, teeball. You can search these sports up if you like! 🙂
Have a great weekend too! From Heidie! 🙂
