Day 1 of Emailing Stanmore Bay School

Today the students of 5/6J started a very exciting journey into becoming Global Citizens. We are beginning a learning partnership with Stanmore Bay School in New Zealand. The class was a buzz with anticipation waiting to find out the name of their new epal. As I handed each student their ID and their epal friend the room was full of talking and excitement. People were sharing names and looking at email addresses and there was total engagement within the learning environment. As I walked around the room there were smiles everywhere and the talk continued all day. By the end of the day there were students starting to reflect on not being in 5/6J next year and missing out on these wonderful opportunities. My answer was 5/6J, we are living for now.
